Aggies Defeat Wildcats 5-1 in Game 1

Omaha, Neb. - Texas AM beat Kentucky 5-1 to open their College World Series title defense on Friday night.
Josh Stewart earned the win for the Aggies, throwing 4.1 scoreless innings in relief of starter Nathan Dettmer. Stewart allowed just two hits and struck out four batters.
Aggie first baseman Ryan Targac drove in a pair of runs, and catcher Troy Claunch added an RBI double.
Texas AM will face Oklahoma in the winners' bracket on Saturday night. Kentucky will face Stanford in the losers' bracket on Sunday.
